In the year 2000 NIIS Group of Institutions was christened under the aegis of Nilachal Education & Management Trust (NEMT). The vision is to impart quality professional education propelled the inception of NIIS Group. With a motto of providing value based technical and professional education in the field of IT, Management & Social Work. NIIS INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION SCIENCE & MANAGEMENT (NIIS) started its voyage in 2000 which is recognised by Govt. of Odisha and Affiliated to Utkal University, Vani Vihar Bhubaneswar. NIIS HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL a constituent of "NIIS Group" came into force in the year 2007 to impart quality education in +2 Science & Commerce streams duly recognised by Govt. of Odisha & Affiliated to CHSE, Odisha.

NIIS INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (NIIS.) established under the same aegis to provide MBA - 2 year full time, MCA - 3 year full time & MCA - 2 year full time ( Lateral Entry) course duly approved by AICTE and affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha.

The state of the art infrastructure of the Institute is fairly well developed with adequate modern facilities to provide practical training to the students in all streams. The students are also given rigorous training for Personality Development, Communication & Soft Skills etc. to make them fit for the Placement.

NIIS Group boast of an integrated campus having 70000 Sq.ft. built up area, separate academic building for under graduate and post graduate students, in-campus hostel for boys and girls, canteen, guest house, auditorium , open-air theatre compliment the lush green eco-friendly, wi-fi campus of NIIS

Of late, there has been a distinct paradigm shift in the field of education in the context of globalization, digitization & the changing global scenario where professional education holds the key. Keeping this in view, NIIS Group of Institutions was made to see the light of the day on a fine morning of the dawn of 21st Century, i.e. in the year 2000. The purpose was to create professionals to meet the growing challenges of industrial & corporate needs by providing education of global standard. Not only can that, along with the academia, the human values are to be upheld so that a complete professional emerges that move beyond the boundaries. Institutions like Nalanda, Takshashila, once upon a time, acted as ancient Oxfords & Cambridge’s, catering for the need on international scholars. Notwithstanding years of foreign invasions & blunderings, India still is considered as one of the pioneers in almost every field. It has the largest youth force that is ready to smite & smother any obstacle that may come its way.

The need of the hour is top the resource & give it a direction. And NIIS is doing exactly that. Upholding the great heritage we belong to it surges ahead offering course that are the most professional & entrepreneur friendly.

It stands its sojourn from a tiny educational institute in importing BBA & BCA(UG) level program in the year 2000 & today, it has extended its wings to 17 branches like +2 Sc. & Commerce, UG level BBA, BCA, B.Sc.(Honrs), B.Com., B.Sc.(Computer Science) & B.Sc.(ITM) and so also in Master Programmes like MBA, MCA, MSc.(CS), MFC, MPMIR and MSW. There are many in the anvil in the coming academic year & the proposal to make it a universally is just the icing on the cake. We have the best of the faculties have in every stream & it is not a self-aggrandizing pronouncement from the Dean; it is the version of the alumni of this Institute. Many things we have accomplished striving with zest, enthusiasm & dedication.

In the Bhagavad-Gita, Sri Krishna says to Arjun,

तस्माद्योगाय युज्यस्व योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्।।

Which means, “Whatever you do, do it without attachment and with skillfull, Yoga is the skill in work”

How true the words are! Skill is an important ingredient in whatever work/project we undertake. Without Skill, work becomes only a toil, a mere waste of time and effort.

Keeping this in view,NIIS has initiated a Skill-Development programme with for upbringing employability factor within its students. Many programmes have been launched and some programmes are on track for launching. Our domains are Human Resource, Digital Marketing, Finance, Information Technology, Personality Development, and a host of others. The feedback we have received so far has been overwhelming that inspires us to surge ahead.
